GOT CALLUSES? HOW TO PREVENT YOUR CALLUSES FROM TEARINGLegendary college basketball coach John Wooden used to teach his players every year how to put on their socks. Why? To make sure they didn't get blisters on their feet, because blisters meant missed practice time. I feel the same way about ripped calluses...a ripped callus means missed training time.A callus is a thickened and hardened part of the skin or soft tissue in an area that has been subjected to repeated friction, pressure, or other irritation. That's good. It means it protects our hands during repetitive motions or high friction movements (such as kettlebell snatches, deadlifts, farmer's carries) that we frequently do at the SHOP.However, excessive callus formation can become a liability since they are more likely to rip or tear, which is not only painful but could limit your ability to perform any movement that involves your hands (just about all of them). The key is routine maintenance of your calluses. In this video, I show you the quick and easy method that I use to keep my calluses in check. I leave enough callus to protect my hands, but not so much that could result in a tear. In fact, I haven't had a callus tear in over a decade!

FREQUENCYAbout once a week is good for most people, but I actually just do it on an "as needed" basisRESOURCESCallus Shaver - http://amzn.to/2bFXoaq
