What was your biggest fear or concern before starting at the SHOP?
Like most other people, I had gym anxiety before starting at the SHOP. I felt like I did not know proper ways of working out such as basic squatting.
How did you overcome that fear to get started and become a member?
I overcame my anxiety by following our coaches’ instructions. I liked how they paid extra attention to me, because they knew I was new to exercise and helped me learn and correct new techniques.
What was your biggest fitness struggle and how did the SHOP help you overcome it?
Probably chin-ups. I could not even do one rep. So my coaches came up with a tailored plan for me to accomplish that mission. And everyone was rooting for me, both our coaches and fellow SHOP members. Now I can do at least two-three reps 🙂
How is your life different now that you’re a SHOP member?
I am stronger now, both physically and mentally. And I’ve made great friends with other SHOP members.
What would you say to someone struggling with their fitness goals and thinking about coming to the SHOP?
Just try it out. Before joining the SHOP, I thought I did not like working out, but looks like I just needed a coach and friends to make exercise a daily habit. And now I am loving it.
