MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

In the twenty-first installment of our “Member Spotlight”, we’re featuring a lady with a huge variety of life experience, a killer deadlift, and an impressive devotion to early mornings at the SHOP! You may have seen her crushing pullups and chinups sometime, but if you’ve not met her yet make sure to say hello next time you see her!

Tracy Byers

First, give us a little background on yourself.

I was born in Corvallis, graduated from OSU and have a degree in Elementary Education. Three years into teaching I discovered I love learning, NOT other people’s children! I just celebrated my 39th wedding anniversary and have two adult children. I have been the GM of a small airport, started flying lessons, owned a quilt pattern company, taught quilting all over Oregon, was a superintendent at the county fair for over two decades, a foods judge, and taught backyard chicken keeping at LBCC. I recently obtained my personal training certification and Pn1 certification. I currently work as a buyer for a women’s athletic apparel company.

What got you started and how long have you been at the SHOP?

Coach Jess B. held our group class at The SHOP when we were training to climb South Sister. When she moved I started training with Cody and joined “officially” 3 months ago.
